I use to sell on ebay just personal stuff I didn't need anymore, at that time when buyers sent check or money orders. I would like to sell again on ebay ,I dont like paypal they tried to put a fraud on my account years ago saying why I didnt have receipts ,well because  items were not new my cell phones, sons cell phone,purses,  I had a good rating .I am still signed up with ebay I never closed account.Do I need a merchant account? ebay live chat said I would need paypal  or merchant account, but I am not a store , just clearing things out of closet I want to sell.So if I am still signed up do I have to sign up again with merchant or paypal account.? Thanks

No, you don't need a merchant account. Paypal is not the only payment option. You can also have the person send you a check or money order, or just cash. Of course, many people may choose not to buy, but you will still get some people that are willing to send you a money order or check.
