Buying & Selling Thru Ebay & Other Auctions/Finding products to sell

Question
Hi Suzanne

I was wondering if you had any tips on ways to find new items to sell. I already know of the various B2B sites to get the products from but my mind is drawing a blank on what to sell. I'm completely limited by my own imagination and right now I cannot think of any thing other than the usual stuff such as mp3 players phones etc.

Thanks,
Marcus

Answer
One technique for finding niche products is to sell accessories or products that compliment popular expensive products. For example, go to major online shopping websites like Walmart.com, Target.com, Amazon, and the eBay main page and examine the products advertised on the main landing page.

For example, let's say you go to Amazon.com and on the front page are 4G phones. The Apple iPhone is a good example. Anything on the front page of Amazon is going to be a very popular product. But your niche product won't be phones. You want to piggyback off of the phone idea and look for accessories to sell such as skins, chargers, cases, screen protectors, holsters, ear pieces, and headsets. There will be a market for all of the stuff that goes with phones.

Here are some popular niches on eBay and Amazon:

Anything non-toxic, chemical free, organic, or earth friendly (GREEN products)

Survival, hunting, hiking, camping gear and gadgets

Organic products (things made from organic cotton, organic cosmetic products, etc)

Pet products

Travel related items

Wedding products

Surveillance equipment and gadgets

You can also use the niche product finder explained here:

I hope that helps.
