Buying & Selling Thru Ebay & Other Auctions/Insurance

Question
Dear Marvinator

I am a quilified holistic therapist. Although I dont really practice at the moment I do sell a cream on ebay. Im doing quite well with it & had some really satisfied customers that come back to me. Ive got 100% feedback & would like to keep it that way. My worry is I have no insurance im terribly worried that my cream may give someone some kind of skin irritation & sue me. The thing is the insurance is quite expensive compared to what I sell its hardely worth me selling the cream in the first place. It is highly unlikely that it would cause any irritation as its all natural & the most gentle oils are used. I have put on the discription page that if any irritation occures I would not be responcible. Anyway I would like to know how I stand with ebay if a problem like this did happen.

Answer
What my personal opinion is of our insurance needs are irrelevant.  For legal advice, you need to consult with an attorney concerning your liability in any ebay transaction.  Just putting "I'm not responsible" in your auction descriptions is not enough.  The more you sell, the more you need to reconsider your legal position.

As for ebay, I know for a fact that Ebay has no concerns over your busienss SO LONG AS you run a good business and stay out of court.  Should you ever be taken to court, Ebay's concerns in your auctions might change dependant upon the outcome of the case.

Expertise

I`ve been involved with Ebay practically since it`s inception. I`ve spent a lot of free time in helping people find the answer to problems as well as selling techniquest on the Ebay system. I`m more than comfortable with the Ebay system, it`s rules and policies and the why`s and wherefores of it`s day to day operation and the operations of both a seller and buyer.

Experience

Been a consistent seller on Ebay since 1997 and have been regarded as a 'source' for information on Ebay itself.
(Under Expertiese, it should be techniques, not techniquest...sorry bout that....)
