Question
i found an ebook with a link to ebay where it says you can look at closed auction for different items and the stats for how many closed sucessfully. The link is gone.

Where on the ebay site can i figure out the closing ratios for various products ?

Answer
Auctions, sold or not, remain on the system for up to 120 days.  You can search this archive for up to 30 days back from the current date.  You can get the closed list, but you will have to do the Math for the ratio's yourself.  Here's how to get the list of closed auctions:

On any page of ebay you will now find a search input at the top right corner of the page.  Just below this you will find "Advanced Search". Click this link.

Now, in order to get a listing of completed items you will first need to search the current open items. Fill in your search parameters and click the "Search" Button.

Once the list comes up, scroll down the LEFT hand edge of the page and you will see more search categories and "SEARCH OPTIONS".  In this area you will find a check box next to "Completed Listings".  Click this box and an check mark appears in it.

Scroll down a bit further and click the "Show Items' Button. You will now get a listing of CLOSED items which are still on the system.  Keep in mind that this search option only goes back 30 days.  You will not see any auction older than 30 days.

I hope this helps.

Expertise

I`ve been involved with Ebay practically since it`s inception. I`ve spent a lot of free time in helping people find the answer to problems as well as selling techniquest on the Ebay system. I`m more than comfortable with the Ebay system, it`s rules and policies and the why`s and wherefores of it`s day to day operation and the operations of both a seller and buyer.

Experience

Been a consistent seller on Ebay since 1997 and have been regarded as a 'source' for information on Ebay itself.
(Under Expertiese, it should be techniques, not techniquest...sorry bout that....)
