Buying & Selling Thru Ebay & Other Auctions/eBay Pictures

Question
Hi,  I would like to sell on eBay, but do not have knowledge on how to post pictures.  Could you tell me the simplest way to do this?  Thank you, Connie

Answer
There are two ways to post pictures in Auctions on Ebay.

The first is to use the Ebay Picture Services.  When you place an auction, the first picture is free and you merely upload it to the Ebay site while working on the "Sell Your Item" page.  You can list more than one picture, but each additional picture will cost you 15¢.

Perhaps the best way to place pictures in your auctions is to host them yourself.  What you need for this is an internet webspace.  Many ISP's give you several megabytes of space with your account.  (AOL, Comcast, most of the major Internet Service Providers will do this as part of your account package.) Another way is to find a free webhosting site.  Perhaps the most well known is www.Photobucket.com.

Once you have the site, and upload the pictures to the website, each picture will have it's own URL, or Universal Resource Locator address.  It will be something like http://www.domain.com/account/filename.ext  This means that if I had a picture on photobucket named 'Vase.gif" then the URL might look like this:
http://www.photobucket.com/marvinator/Vase.gif

Now, once you have the URL, it's a simple matter to use HTML code to place the auction in your auction.  HTML Code is simple type, placed together between 'tags', which are "<" and ">".  In the example I used above, the code for placing that picture in an auction would be:
<img src="http://www.photobucket5.com/marvinator/Vase.gif">

In every case, you need only replace the part between the quotes and you can post ANY Picture so long as it has it's own URL.

I hope that this has helped.  Feel free to return and ask more questions as your Ebay exprience grows!

I`ve been involved with Ebay practically since it`s inception. I`ve spent a lot of free time in helping people find the answer to problems as well as selling techniquest on the Ebay system. I`m more than comfortable with the Ebay system, it`s rules and policies and the why`s and wherefores of it`s day to day operation and the operations of both a seller and buyer.

Experience

Been a consistent seller on Ebay since 1997 and have been regarded as a 'source' for information on Ebay itself.
(Under Expertiese, it should be techniques, not techniquest...sorry bout that....)
