i understand the powersellers are defined as above. What i would like to know is how many there are in each category. Do you have any idea ?  I read somewhere there are 30,000 powersellers in all but i cant find any info to verify and i would really like to know the numbers for platinum and titanium.

You are correct in your understanding of the levels for Powersellers, but I'n not sure what good it would do to know how many there are in any one group - or in all - except to show how some people have found a good way to make money on ebay.  

The answer to your question is that there is no way to know for sure how many powersellers there are at any one level at any one time.  This is due to the one factor that everyone misses in the Powerseller program, and that is that in order to BECOME a powerseller, the sales level must be made every month for three months and then REMAIN at that level every month thereafter.  If a seller makes the $10,000 a month level to qualify for Gold one month, and then misses it the next month, he is dropped to Silver.  There are untold numbers of people whose sales reach the Bronze level one month and then miss it the next or who become a Bronze and then miss the dollar level the very next month - LOSING the Power Seller Membership.  These numbers change constantly in this manner so it is always difficult to know exactly how many sellers are at any one level at any time.
