Im very new to ebay, but have been programming for a long time and have a 'somewhat' successful software company. What i want to do is sell software that i develop on ebay, the person who would buy it would be someone interested in marketing it and selling it to the consumers. I would like to see if other people are selling custom software like this (not large commercial software like microsoft word) but actually selling the rights to sell the software. So what catagorie should i look under, or can you provide a link for a bunhc of search resultes like this.

You could probably use the Software Category for your auction, though I'm unaware of very many others selling the same thing, namely "Resale Rights".

I suppose that the nature of the software would be the reason it sells well, or not well or even if it sells at all. You don't say what kind of software it is, so I will not hazzard a guess as to what it is or how good it will do for either you or your 'Authorized Reseller.'  This also goes for your initial auction for the 'Resale rights' to this auction.  

As for a link to similar items, I did a simple search and found 540 items currently listed on eBay with the words "resale" and "rights" in the title.  These were everything from software to vending machines. I then found 371 items currently listed on Ebay using the words "software" and "resell".  

As you can see, the field is wide open.  You may want to check these same searches out on closed items just to see what the percentage is of sold/listed items and how high the sold aucitons ended.
