Question
Question : What is the best patent on computers for prof. video editing work; explain: Apple, Microsoft, Linux (others??
Question Details: I'm planning on buying a new computer for my video editing production skills and I want to know if anyone is familiar with various patented computer brands such as Apple Machintosh, Microsoft Windows, Linux or any others that may be much more suited for video editing and broadcast preparation? I'm open to learning on other systems. I started off working on Apple Mac computers, then I started working on Microsoft Windows as the years went on; mostly, but I'm not sure if I'm missing something more suited for video editing. I want to make a good purchase just for my growing skills in the area of anything video or visual. Of course audio is a concern as well. Please any expert knowledge or someone who has any resources that they can link to me?

Answer
Generally Windows XP Professional and OS X provide good platforms for video editing, there are a number of professional applications that will run on either, Apple's "killer ap" for video editing is Final Cut, which is unique to the Apple platform, Windows doesn't have an equally "killer app" although it supports a number of great editing apps (which are all generally available for the Apple platform) including: Sony Vegas, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, and Edius (which is Windows only).

Expertise

I have nearly two decades of experience in IT, computer repair, and related fields and will attempt to provide the most solid, brand-agnostic advice when it comes time to purchase a new computer, or upgrade an existing machine. I can answer anything from the seemingly basic to the downright complicated - and will do my best to provide this information in a clear and concise manner.

Experience

I have been an enthusiast of PC's for many years, and can answer questions about the purchase/use of a new computer or the purchase, installation, and use of upgrades for existing computers. There probably isn't a whole lot related to the home computer that I haven't seen over the years.
