Question
When examining the specs of a laptop, what should I be looking for when my primary interest is in the fastest possible response time on a dialup internet connection.

Answer
Well, honestly any hardware from about 2002 and on will give you that, because the limiting factor is the internet connection itself, modem technology hasn't really changed since the 1990's, and the processing power has gone from where it was in the 1990's, to 10-20x that in 2007-2008 equipment.
