Question hi bobbert . i have dual core 2.0 ghz e2180. asus p5kplvm motherboard. i want to upgrade my pc. my retailer told me about core 2 duo 2.93 ghz. so my question is this that i am a big gaming fan i have nvidia 9600gt 512mb . do i have to buy core 2 duo 2.93 ghz with 4mb l2 catche. or i should buy quad core.
Answer What games are you playing on your system, and whats driving the upgrade need? A lack of performance?
If the goal is better performance in games, I would probably keep the CPU as is, and upgrade the graphics adapter, something like the newer nVidia GTS 250 or GTX 260 would be a far more worthwile upgrade, in terms of performance in videogames.
