Question Want to purchase a simple computer for surfing. Have seen many deals but not sure how to insure a honest dealer for used or refurb items. I know Dell etc. sell these but of course their price is more. May be worth it but trying for a simple suggestion for 300.00 or under if possible. So many choices.
Thanks,
Answer Honestly, I wouldn't suggest buying a used or refurbished laptop from anywhere but a manufacturer, as you risk not having an honored warranty, and the system is likely massively overpriced. If your budget doesn't allow for a portable system, a number of desktop solutions can be had within $300 from vendors such as Dell and Hewlett-Packard. Another alternative within your budget may be the purchase of a netbook, if portability is required, as there are options which fit within your budget. I would suggest Asus and Acer regarding netbooks.
