Buying a computer system/Basic No Frills Computer

Question
Bobbert: my web tv can no longer access ebay or amazon.com. They upgraded their sites. I need a bare bones type of computer to access their security. Nothing more! I'll keep my "weak" webtv for email & surfing the web. what would you suggest? Thanks for your help!

You might look into the new nVidia Ion/nettop style computers that are currently popular. They should offer a decent upgrade from a web TV device, maintain the small footprint, and keep noise and power consumption to a minimum.
