Question
I'm looking at a gatewaynv7915u, 600$. I have a little over 650 to spend. At most 700, tax included. Can you recommend better 17 inch all around laptops?

I've had a Gateway notebook for a couple years and I wish I hadn't bought it. Hard to put my finger on why - other than it is slow, etc.
Best laptops out there now for the money are Lenovo (IBM) and Toshiba. Watch the specials on Newegg.com and you can get either for $399 or less - includind tax and shipping. Look for one with 4GB of RAM. The other specs are about the same on both.
