Question
i own a hp pavilion a1110y now and i would like to purchase a new all in one. i only use it for home use. the one i own now is a little slow and i would like to buy something that is faster. any recommendations. thank you

Answer
By All-In-One I assume you mean something that roughly resembles an Apple iMac - and that would be my first suggestion (for general home use, like browsing the Internet, there is nothing that makes OS X problematic - its only if you have a specific application or application base that won't work within OS X (like Direct3D)). Alternately, HP and Sony produce a number of AIO solutions as well, which feature newer versions of Windows (some of them also feature touchscreens), and I would consider any of them as acceptable. Unless you're running some intensive application that you're not thinking of, you're pretty much wide open in terms of specifications as the demand from web browsing and office tasks is well within the scope of basically all modern processors.

Regarding the slowness of your existing system, have you attempted to remedy this problem in any way, or is there a specific application (or set of applications) that won't work with your existing hardware (thus prompting the upgrade)? If yes to the later, which application is giving you trouble? (As this may influence my suggestion in terms of hardware)

I have nearly two decades of experience in IT, computer repair, and related fields and will attempt to provide the most solid, brand-agnostic advice when it comes time to purchase a new computer, or upgrade an existing machine. I can answer anything from the seemingly basic to the downright complicated - and will do my best to provide this information in a clear and concise manner.

Experience

I have been an enthusiast of PC's for many years, and can answer questions about the purchase/use of a new computer or the purchase, installation, and use of upgrades for existing computers. There probably isn't a whole lot related to the home computer that I haven't seen over the years.
