Question
QUESTION: Hello:

What is the difference in a laptop, notebook and netbook computers?

I thank you for your reply.

ANSWER: Hi Ken,

Laptop and notebook are two different names for the same thing.  A netbook is basically a notebook with a 10 inch screen and no CD/DVD player/burner.  Other than that, a netbook has all the same capabilities as its brothers.

QUESTION: Hello:

I want to thank you for the reply and answer. Since a netbook does not have a CD/DVD player, can a separate CD/DVD player be connected to the netbook?

I thank you for your follow-up reply.

Answer
Hi again Ken,

Yes it can.  You can get a very nice slimline external CD/DVD player/burner for about $40 that hooks into a USB port.  Toshiba makes a very nice one and you do not need a separate power adapter {power is provided from the USB port}.

If you are in the market for a netbook and have a Walmart nearby, they have a very nice ACER on sale this week for $229.  That is the best price I have seen yet.
