Gateway also included overclocking of the 8800GTX at no charge and two video games!
As I'm new to PCs I felt better buying from a major manuaftuer rather than attempt to built it or buy from some outfit that only sold 150 units last year and have a PO BOX as an address! Thanks for all your advise. I think this should stay "future proof" for a while!

I would say for $4110.63 I have a custom designed PC the way I WANT and very high end also for the cost of what Consumer Reprts says is average. You have to add in my 22" Viewsonic Monitor at $379.00 and at $4489.00 I'm a happy camper (gamer)! Thanks again BOBERT!

No problem, just as a note of warning, I haven't heard wonderful things about Windows Vista and the GeForce 8800 series, however the situation is improving, also, if you have (or are going to purchase) a Creative labs sound card such as the X-Fi (or older Audigy) there will also be some problems with Vista (less with X-Fi, as Creative is rapdily working around Microsoft's mess, and their current high dollar product gets the most attention).

I'm not saying Vista will destroy your computer, I'm just saying that if you experience problems with gaming or driver stability, you may consider a switch back to XP Professional SP2 for a while.
