Question
Hello bob i was wondering if building a pc would be a cheaper way to go if i was to buy all the hardware and do it myself im pretty mechanically inclined this will be my first build.also do you know what type of mobos the mainstream computer companies use like dell,hp,exet... because they never list the specs for the motherboards thats why i was gonna build it so i have futer expansion options. One mor thing what do you think of the amd 64x2 6000 can i get that in 65nm?thanks

Answer
The process size (in nm) of a CPU doesn't really matter, so I wouldn't be at all concerned with it. As far as the mainboards found in OEM big-box systems, its generally whatever they can get produced by the thousand, for the cheapest price.

Expertise

I have nearly two decades of experience in IT, computer repair, and related fields and will attempt to provide the most solid, brand-agnostic advice when it comes time to purchase a new computer, or upgrade an existing machine. I can answer anything from the seemingly basic to the downright complicated - and will do my best to provide this information in a clear and concise manner.

Experience

I have been an enthusiast of PC's for many years, and can answer questions about the purchase/use of a new computer or the purchase, installation, and use of upgrades for existing computers. There probably isn't a whole lot related to the home computer that I haven't seen over the years.
