Buying a computer system/printer

Question
Hi
I got my computer(I have two) back from the shop to discover I couldnt share the printer with the other one anymore.
Can you explain how to get this function back?

Answer
How was it originally shared? A very rough outline of what you'll need to do (more or less regardless of operating system):

Install the printer onto the host system, and ensure it is working properly

Configure the host system and the client system on their network, and ensure that is working properly.

Then, select the printer to be shared as a network resource.

In Windows 2000/XP you would right click on the Printer's icon and select Sharing, and then click the radio button for "Yes share this printer".

Then browse the workgroup from the client system (system without the printer) and click on the host system (with the printer) and it should show the printer, double click that, Windows will alert you that a driver is about to be installed, agree, and the printer should be shared.

I would also like to apologize for the late response, this question was found in the Question Pool today.

I have nearly two decades of experience in IT, computer repair, and related fields and will attempt to provide the most solid, brand-agnostic advice when it comes time to purchase a new computer, or upgrade an existing machine. I can answer anything from the seemingly basic to the downright complicated - and will do my best to provide this information in a clear and concise manner.

Experience

I have been an enthusiast of PC's for many years, and can answer questions about the purchase/use of a new computer or the purchase, installation, and use of upgrades for existing computers. There probably isn't a whole lot related to the home computer that I haven't seen over the years.
