C++/New Electronic Devices Future Prediction.


QUESTION: Dear Vijayan

We are in the 21st century - Year 2013, March Month and in the Internet computing era.

Science, Technology, Medicine are advancing rapidly day by day and every three months a new technology in the form of a programming language, database, development tool/s, operating systems etc comes on the scene.

For example : The Current C++, C#, VB.Net, Java programming Languages may OR may not get Obsolete in Year 2043 i.e. 30 Years from now.

The current electronic devices consumed by most people nowadays are Cellphones, Smartphones and Tablets.


Is it impossible to predict future at this moment for New Electronic Devices which will be used by People in Year 2043 i.e. 30 Years down the line ?

i.e. People will be still using Cellphones, Smartphones, Tablet PC or Some other New Electronic Devices in Year 2043 ?

Will the above method given below help us in predicting New Electronic Devices which will be consumed by People ?

1. Designing and Constructing next generation of Supercomputer Machines.
2. Designing and Developing Software Application/s which will be fed in the Supercomputer machine with inputting all the electronic devices invented till date viz Electric bulb, Computer - (Mainframe, Minicomputer, Microcomputer,Supercomputer), Land line Phone, Wireless Phone, Microwave Machine, Electric Iron, Pager, Smart Phone, Tablet, Refrigerator, Television Set, Radio Receiver, Electronic voting machine, Automobile, Washing Machine, Elevator, Escalator, Scientific Calculator, Watches, Electrocardiogram, MRI Machine, CT Scanner, Sonography machine, Robot, Automated Teller Machine and all medical devices  etc

i.e. Inputting inventions of all electronic devices till date with the name of the inventor, Year, Operating Voltage, Current and Wattage, Functions and features of each of the current electronic devices,
Industry Domain Use i.e. Homes, Offices, Factories, Airports, Medical Industry, Tools, Raw materials etc.

What will the Process for this software application designed and developed ?.

Process consists of the mathematical calculations, logical processing part.

The Logical processing part will compare all the electronic devices like for examples how a cellphone, smartphone, tablet are different in terms of features and functions, a television set and a radio receiver set are different in terms of features and functions etc.

The Processing Logic of the application can be simple/complex for the Next Generation of Supercomputer to predict future electronic devices inventions.

Its important to note that one invention leads to another invention. i.e. Output of one invention becomes
a input source for next invention.

Example :

i.e. Land line Phone -> Cellular Phone. -> Smartphone -> Tablet. -> ? -> ? -> ? -> ? -> ? -> ? -> ?
Feeding the computer with those communication devices with each functions and features it is offering and comparing each device with another device in terms of similarity and differences in its functions and features.

Then asking the supercomputer  which would be the future communication devices 5, 10, 15, 20 years down the line.

Then asking the supercomputer  which would be the future medical electronic devices 5, 10, 15, 20 years down the line.

Similarly all other electronic devices comparison in ascending order of their inventions dates .......

A Software application / program has input, process and output.

Then questioning the Next generation Supercomputer which would be the Electronic devices/ five years, ten years, twenty years, thirty years down the line ?


Enter the Year 2018, 2023, 2028, 2033, 2038, 2043 .....

Output of the Software Program will be the names of the probable Electronic Devices which will be invented as per the number of years entered i.e. 2018, 2023, 2028, 2033, 2038, 2043.

Inputting the Next generation of Supercomputer for Number of Years viz 5,10,15,20,25,30 .... where the
Software Application will list the probable electronic devices which will be manufactured/constructed/invented.

Will the above method help in predicting new electronic devices of the future ?

Note : Computer Aided Design (CAD) will assist in designing the new machine.

Note : A Series of games were played between Chess World Champion
Gary Kasparov and Deep Blue Machine - Supercomputer designed and developed by IBM to check whether Man v/s Machine Battle.

Now, the Chess Graphics Program known as Fritz was designed and
developed by Chess Grand masters, but this match was played with a
chess application/program under a Supercomputer machine because of its high speed computing, complex calculations with a Human Being.

Don't you feel Optimistic that similarly a robust software application designed and developed under next generation of supercomputers will now predict the future of giving the results
of Probable New Electronic Devices which will be invented. The results may be not 100 % accurate, but still it is possible.

ANSWER: I'm rushed for time right now, and this requires a fair amount of thinking.

On similar lines of New Electronic Devices Future Prediction, Same thing is applicable to predict the future generation programming languages with help of a robust application/s running on next generation Supercomputer ?

Input all the Programming Languages till date with inventor's name, add all the features of the Programming languages in the application/s, write the processing logic of comparing one programming language with another programming language and the supercomputer will be able to predict the next generation future programming languages.

For examples : Basic, Fortran, Pascal, Lisp, C, C++, Java, VB, VB.Net, C#, HTML,XML,JAVASCRIPT, JQUERY, ADA, Smalltalk, Perl, PHP .........

I have given this some considerable thought, and haven't been able to visualize a software program being able to predict future electronic devices.

Software can predict trends based on past data; but most dramatic advances have come via innovations which have broken the trend. Would computers that can be controlled by thought - tapping into the electromagnetic brain waves etc. - be a possibility? If so, by when? I don't see how something like this can be predicted with any accuracy at all.
