Hi,

I am trying to connect C# windows application to SqlServer Express. But i am not able to execute the program.

The program which one i try to execute is given below:

SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection();
con.ConnectionString = @"Server=.\SQLExpress;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|Database1.sdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True";
con.Open();
if(con !=null)
 Console.WriteLine("Connected Successfully");
else
 Console.WriteLine("Connection Failed");
con.Close();

Please suggest me what is the Correct Code.

hello,
in attachdbfilename you should specify the complete path for instance
1-
Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=C:\myproject\databases\ASPNETDB.MDF;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True

2-
server=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=C:\myproject\databases\ASPNETDB.MDF;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True

3- or something like this
server=.\SQLEXPRESS;initial catalog=databaseName;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True

also be sure your sql server accept remote connections (if you want to use No3
if you had problem again please send me the exact error message
