Question
can i learn cad by myself but i dont know how to start with.i need to know the job opportunities for cad. i downloaded intellicad software but not able to find any tools as given in the illustration page on the website.please help

Answer
There are plenty of tutorial books that you can use to teach yourself CAD. Most CAD programs have built in tutorials in their help menus. I am not familiar with Intellicad.

The most commonly used CAD program would be AutoDesk's AutoCad. There are usually a fair number of jobs available for trained operators. Like any other software a "Certificate" indicates you have a certain level of expertise. You can obtain a certificate through many community colleges and tech schools. If you could go the self-taught root you would have to find an institution that offers the exam.

Schroff Publications offers a wide array of tutorial books. Many come with a 180 day software license.

One other consideration is whether you want to train in a AutoCad or one of the 3D modeling CAD packages like Inventor, Solidworks, or Pro-E. You may want to find out which program business are using in your area.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
