Question
Hi,
What softwares do these people at the art departments of let's say Apple and other companies use to design their products let's say the iPhone?
And which software do you suggest for designing products with computers, please help?

Answer
Hi Heni,

I'm sorry but I have no idea what the art departments of (as an example) Apple uses for its for software.  This is definitely way out of area of expertise.

I can't suggest a software but I will tell you what I've used at previous companies.

When I was managing CAD Designs and also product packaging and labeling I used SolidWorks and Adobe (Illustrator) CS4.

With SolidWorks I was able to import my artwork (images) directly into my packaging drawings.  At this previous employer it was very helpful because in the past they used to have very long and specific work instructions on how things were supposed to get packaged.  These wordy documents got updated much to frequently because they were hard to understand.

Because, by using SolidWorks and Adobe Illustrator, I was able to produce drawings that pictorially showed them how things should be oriented and such, it was easier to understand (english was not the #1 language), there were much fewer mistakes and a quicker turn-around.

So instead of having a 10 to 20 page document ... I was able to reduce that to one (single) drawing.

In my opinion, both software packages were easy to use, I was able to share information between both of them and (also in my opinion) not very expensive.

Now let me ask you a question ... your question ... is this part of a justification you're trying to write, or a comparison paper, or possibly a project paper for school ?  I'm just curious because I've never been asked this kind of question before.

Cheers,
Brian
