CAD/Plotting 3d objects

Question
I'm new to 3d AutoCad. In 2d I've always been able to produce good looking plots using penstyles (.ctb file). I'm attempting to plot 3d objects the same way in a viewport set or model space for any kind of viewstyle but all my linework seems to be shaded back, like the plotter isn't using the penstyle file.
What do I need to do to get penstyles to work when plotting a 3d object?

Answer
If you're just trying to print out a photo-realistic 3d rendering of your model, your best option is to use the 'render' feature/command vs printing directly to your plotter. You can then use graphics editing software (photoshop) to further enhance your rendering. Hope this helps.
