Question
Mr. Borge

1.6XP+ Athlon
512Mb memory
Geforce2 32Mb
40Gb HDD

I just wanted to know what benchmark utility should i use to compare computers here at work.  The majority of the users have Pentium systems but we're trying to justify Athlon systems are far better.  So right now, our action is to  populate data's between the 2 processors but dont know what utility to use.  Thanks!

Answer
Funny u asked this question because i just did some benchmarking myself!  Go to SolidSolutions.com & fill out a form for download.  3-5 days later, they will contact you & give you download location & password.  FYI, the file is about 80Mb so i wouldn't recommend downloading it on a dial-up connection.  The program will tests 3 categories: Graphics, CPU, I.O., & Sum of Completed test.  The default cycle is 5 but can be customized to as much as you want.  The benchmark utility will run by itself w/out any user interaction & it will go thru assy., part modification, zoom, rotate, etc. The website also enables you to view data's from various Pentium based systems (Dell, HP, Compaq, etc. ranging $3,000 above).  You'll be surprised what the scores going to be when compared w/ Athlon.
