Subject: Convert CAD dwg to Visio

Question
My client want me to format CAD dwg to visio file. I don't have Visio software. How can I convert CAD dwg. to Visio .vsd? or can he import CAD dwg.to vsd. with his Visio program?

I´m searching for a tool like this as well, for about 4 weeks, because my visio 2007 pro can open those CAD- files, but not convert them to a visio- file. These files are shown as normal pictures, but i want to move just special parts of this "picture". i can move those parts in autocad, but it´s a long process doin´it every time again. i found tools to convert pdf, bmp, jpg, vsd and oall that stuff into dwg, but no program for converting dwg 2 vsd.

thanks for helping me, hope my english is not too bad.

greetz, johann

Answer
Johann,

Unfortunately, there are no tools that can directly convert from an autocad format to visio. The autocad objects has to be imported in visio. What is it that you keep on modifying in autocad? If it's a repetitive process that can it be ran thru a lisp routine or a batch process?

Regards,
JBB
