Question
We have thousands of drawing that have been done using Solid Works 2001. I want chnage them to Solid Edge (V18).
Is there a way to convert them over, be it draft or 3D?
Is there a common file type (ie dwg) that both can read and write?
Can I buy a program to change the drawings over?
Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

best regards
Chris

Answer
I'm not really familiar w/ Solid Edge. However, If you have SolidWorks Office, you should have the SolidWorks Task Scheduler in order to export to IGES.

1. View/Options (Set the export settings desired for the IGES filetypes)
2. Export Files> "from the side bar or pulldown" and select the desired directories.

Hope this helps!
