Question
Hi Brian ...

I'm relatively new to using SolidWorks and I'd like to know if there is a way to copy my personal settings from my PC and be able to use them on another computer ?

Thanks ...

Patti

Answer
Patti ...

This is very simple to accomplish and I can certainly walk you through it.  If you have a question like this in the future, I would highly recommend using SolidWorks' Help Topics (within SolidWorks click on Help and then SolidWorks Help Topics).  There is more information in this helpful utility than I'll ever be able to remember.

1.  Start a session of SolidWorks and customize everything you want to (don't worry if you think you forgot something you can always re-do what I am about to go over with you).

2.  Close or exit out of SolidWorks.

3.  Click on Start button, scroll to Programs, then to SolidWorks and then to SolidWorks Tools.  Click on Copy Settings Wizard ...

4.  Click on Save Settings and then simply follow the prompts.  Make sure you know where you copy your Settings File.

5.  Copy this file (*.sldreg) to a disc or network and you are all set.

CAUTION:  Prior to restoring your settings on another PC, first thing to do is Save that person's settings so that once you're done you'll be able to restore that users personal settings.

I hope this helps, if not feel free to post me again.
