Experience I've been in the 3D/2D CAD industry for 10 yrs. & also had the opportunity/exposure to operate with several mainstream design packages. I've assisted many firms facilitate their 3D migration process.
Question I am doing a ressearch project for school and I need to ask you some questions, so if you could answer these five questtions, that would be awesome!
1.When were you first interested in CAD?
2.What is it like working with cad?
3.How do you think CAD has influenced the way architects design?
4.How has CAD influenced you?
5.Where did you get your education in cad?
Thank you so much for doing this, Adam
Answer 1.When were you first interested in CAD?
I was always mechanically inclined & wanted to be in the engineering industry. When ITT started their CAD program, i thought this was going to be my ticket.
2.What is it like working with cad?
It's just like any other job but i like to help build my own designs (if you really want it done right the first time) so I actually get my hands dirty all the time. Some designers just do the office thing but personally, you learn a whole lot more building it along with the people around you in the shop.
3.How do you think CAD has influenced the way architects design?
Structural analysis, FMEA, 3d rendering presentations/walk-thrus, change propagation, construction timelines/deadlines, BOM/probable costs...just to name a few-it's just hard to imagine not to use cad these days.
4.How has CAD influenced you?
It gave me the opportunity grow, learn new things other than cad, & i was able to travel
5.Where did you get your education in cad?
Austin College, TX
