I can address general questions regarding Autocad, Autocad Mechanical, Land Desktop, & Solid Works

Expert: <font color=#6b238e>J. </font><font color=#ff7f00>B. </font><font color=#0000ff>Borge</font> - 10/8/2005

Question
I wouldmlike to know of a good cad software to do sheermetal layout work. A software that is cheap would be nice.

                    Thanks

Answer
I'd definitely recommend to go 3D for any sheetmetal layouts. If your current software is Autocad, then you might want to consider Autodesk's Inventor to ease the transition. However, Solidworks excel in this area where the sheetmetal model is rendered during the design process, then later can be layed flat (fillets pre-calculated) for the mfg process. Both software are pricey, but well worth the investment. Hope this helps!
