Question
Hi, I am having a problem with my dvd writer,it seems everytime i write a dvd the sound of the voice is about 4 seconds ahead of the mouth movement, but when i watch the film on my gateway notebook MX6439 it works perfect, do you have any suggestions to why this happens? please email me to gawilco7@hotmail.com. thank you very much. regards Gary

Answer
Hi Gary,
This is a failing of the authoring software you are using. As you may well know, DVDs have to be 'authored' to control the way the disk plays in a player, one aspect of which is the audio synchronisation. If you want further detail, I need to know what you are burning and what with, and what software yuou are using.

Roy

Experience

Hi, I have been doing this spot here for some years now, and I like to think that I have helped a few people here and there, but due to advancing years and failing health, I'm afraid that I have decided that I can no longer carry on since I can no longer guarantee to be able to answer questions in a reasonable timescale. I should like to thank all the other experts and the users of this site for what has been an enjoyable and enlightening experience. I shall be terminating next Sunday 12th November 2006.
