hi roy i got a laptop toshiba with no cd drive or floppy and im trying to boot windows from external cd rom ide to usb but PXE-E61: Media test failure, Check cable.
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE-ROM?
HI Paula,
Fairly clear I thought, you have a hardware failure which is causing a problem reading the disk in the drive, and it is suggesting that you check the cable, however, if this is an elderly Toshiba, and a modern drive caddy, it is possible that the problem is the Toshiba's USB port is only a USB1 whereas the caddy needs at least USB2 to function correctly.
Whatever, the error message is possibly correct, and investigation on the spot is indicated to narrow down to the precise cause.
