Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/Adjusting cup hinges

Question
How do you adjust cup hinges up and down for Kraftmaid Cabinets?

Answer
Claire,

There are a couple of ways to adjust cup hinges, it depends on the make of the hinge. If you can either look on the hinge and tell me the brand, or if you can send me a picture, I will try to help. There is a way to send pictures through this site.

But you can try these two things first - look in these two places - on the long extension bar that attaches the cup part to the mounting bracket inside the cabinet. There may be a screw in an elongated slot. Since you're wanting to adjust the door up/down, the slot would be up/down. Loosen the screw, adjust the hinge a little, then tighten the screw. Do that on both hinges per door, that will adjust it.

I've also seen those elongated slots on the cabinet base plate, too. You will essentially do the same thing - loosen the screws, slide the plate up or down, depending on where you want to adjust it to, and then tighten the screws.

If those two tips don't help, send a picture and I'll try to help.

Good luck, write back if you need more help.
