Question
I have a lovely middle island with a wood finish in my kitchen - its only two years old and my cleaning lady has oiled it with danish oil and its all smeary and has round rings where she applied it quickly - it almost looks like it has dried with spots all over like someone has wiped it over with a wet cloth in a circular finish - how do I put this right please

Answer
Sounds like the island probably has a lacquer sealer on it. So what your seeing is the oil drying in over applied amounts without being wiped off. I would attempt to use "triple zero" steel wool to take off the rings. In conjunction with the steel wool, try using a polish or something that will basically remove the oil. Someone at a local hardware store should be able to recommend a product.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
