Question
I have a bassett queen sleigh bed, and recently the wooden frame on one side has broken, and the split/crack is from the middle to nearly the end of the foootboard. I would like to know how this can be repaired, without having to purchase a new frame--if that's even possible

Hi Jan, it likely could be repaired, was this crack caused by too much weight, or other damage? It's probably the job for a restorer, to make sure it's done right, and you should be able to locate someone near you to do it. I would call a reputable, long standing Antique dealer and ask them for a recommendation, they will know who is good in your area, and they should offer a free estimate.
