Question
I perchased a new kitchen table and to protect it's finish I placed plastic over the entire thing. Months later when I went to remove the plastic it left a film on the surface of the table and it's sort of stick, how can I safely remove this film without doing more damage?

Hi Sara, the plasticizers in the plastic sheet may have transfered or even altered the tables finish...you could try something like "Goof Off" in an inconspicuous area and see if it removes it, but likely you have permanently marred the finish, and what you're seeing is the changed finish itself, and not a removable film...........if that's the case, you'll have to strip it off and refinish it.Was this plastic just a sheet or did it have some sort of adhesive?
