Question
Hi , I spilled a little oil from a scent diffuser on my cherry dresser. This ruined the finish in spots. Is there any way I can do a spot repair or must I get the whole top of my dresser refinished? Thank you
Hi Elaine, your dresser is probably lacquer, and the solvents ate away the finish....trying to do a spot repair on lacquer is the stuff of the advanced finisher, and it is likely the whole top would have to be refinished, or at the very least relacquered. Not the stuff of the novice. I recommend you call in a pro to look at it and give you an estimate and an opinion.
