Question
What can I use to sand between the spindles on my staircase? I'm using a different color stain and I need to sand between the spindles.

Answer
When occasionally stuck in that circumstance, I used a profile sander to get into tight spots.  I would do what I can with an orbital sander, and complete the rest between the profile sander and hand sanding.  The profile sander does save an enormous amount of time and can even do detail sanding on the turned balusters.
