Question
I'm not exactly sure what caused the spots on my daughter's white furniture but it might have been the round rubber things on the bottom of stereo speakers.  There are a bunch of them where the speakers were, and it looks like every time the speakers were moved it would create additional spots.  Is there a way to prevent more?  Also, what can I do to repair the furniture?  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Tammy
Nice to hear from you.
Oh the dreaded black rubber marks LOL.
Seen lots of them at my house.
The only chance of them coming off is with mineral spirits.
Just rub it on the area with a rag.
To prevent them in future, get some of those round felt peel and stick floor protectors that you would normally use on chair legs or furniture legs and place them under the rubber legs of the speakers.
Good luck and great question
Regards
Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
