Question
just bought a danish modern dinning set I would like to clean it and then polish it what do you suggest I do. thank you patty P.S. It is a vintage set not new

Answer
Hi Patricia
Nice to hear from you.
I like to use fine steel wool dipped in Mineral spirits for heavy dirt, and omit the steel wool and just use a rag with the spirits if the dirt is not heavy.
Dry as you go with clean rags, then I would apply a coat of oil.
Tung oil or Danish oil is fine.
Your furniture will look like new.

Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
