Question
My kitchen is about two years old and some of the wood trim moldings on the cabinet doors are separating from the door. How can I repair this it's very upsetting. Thank you for your help.

Answer
Hi Susan
Nice to hear from you.
So sorry this is happening to your cabinets that are only two years old. It shouldn't that for sure.
I think I would be tempted to get in touch with the maker.
But your question was "How can I repair this?"
I would guess this trim has been applied with glue and small nails.
Do you see any nails behind the wood?
I would apply some glue to the back of the trim, tap the molding down then apply wood clamps to hold it in place till the glue dries.
I certainly hope the trim is not warping out of shape as you will not fix it.
Good Luck
Kind Regards
Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
