Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/outdoor kitchens

Question
last year I built an outdoor kitchen with cabinets I had. I painted them inside and out with outdoor paint. To my surprise...they did not weather the winter. I am not willing to pay thousands of dollars for stainless steel. Any tips on making cabinets that will weather the winter?

Answer
I wonder what area you live in? How bad are your winters? I am in New England, and we get some bad winters. People use Teak for outdoor furniture here, because it can take a good winter beating and still live. You have to make sure you treat the wood, it may need re-staining and oiling to survive a few winters.

Otherwise, the idea of an outdoor kitchen has sparked my curiosity and imagination. I wonder if you could email me some pictures? I'd love to see what it looks like.
