Question
I knocked over a bottle of red wine at the start of a dinner party & could not remove cloth etc to treat properly I mopped up excess with kitchen roll and left a wad of clean kitchen roll under cloth next day when clearing table and removing cloth I found my oak veneered table is badly stained black with pattern ov kitchen roll on it I'm  not sure if stain is caused fron the red wine or just dampness but would be very grateful if you can offer any advice on what I may be able to do if anything to rectify the damage I would be endebted to you

Yours sincerely

Answer
It depends on what kinds of table it is. I'm going to assume its exposed wood. If so, I would try to get "triple zero steel wool" from a hardware store. Use the steel wool with some kind of oil or wood conditioner. This may help to pull some of the stain out. If the stain has penetrated too deep, there are still tricks to get it out, but you would have to seek a professional to come to your home. He may have to press steam it out or refinish it.

Good luck!
