Question
Hi there. A co-worker has tried to clean a table with a bleached cloth and has ruined the table. It looks sleeky and i was just wondering if there is anything we can do to restore the table or improve the table. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Jenny
Nice to hear from you.
This has been happening a lot because of these cloths.
Try cleaning the table with mineral spirits.
Use a fine steel wool pad as a scrubber.
Then a polish.
If that fails, no choice but a refinish.
Good Luck
Regards
Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
