Question
I have a dark stained colonial style secretary desk that is badly scratched and nicked.  Otherwise, it is in great shape.  What can I do to freshen up or should I just refinish it?

This type of damage is hard to disguise.
If its in great shape otherwise perhaps you should consider a refinish if your up for it.
