Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/Water mark on veneer surface

Question
Hi. I purchased a cherry veneer dining room table recently at a garage sale. I paid for it and returned a few hours later to pick it up. When I did we found that the table pads that were put on the table (after I paid) had some moisture in/on them and because the table was sitting in the sun, the moisture seeped onto the table causing a significant 6 inch x 12 inch white water mark on the surface. I purchased the set anyway (at a reduced price but I'd like to remove the mark. The table surface is a glossy cherry veneer. I've tried Murphys Oil Soap and Old English but neither worked. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you... Jeff

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
