Question
I used some clear plastic shelf liner with adhesive to cover a table that was used in a play to avoid water stains.  The first time I did this I had no problem.  But this time when I took the plastic off the table the adhesive is all over the table top.  I there something I can use to remove the adhesive without hurting the table?

Answer
Hi Beth
Nice to hear from you.
This adhesive will be easily removed with varsol or mineral spirits.
This will not hurt the finish.
Use a rag and dip in the spirits.
May have to soak the rag fairly well and rub a bit but it will come off.
Then a nice polish.
Great question.

Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
