Subject: French Doors
Question Hi. We just had a set of french doors installed for the entrance into our new addition. The painters we asked suggested we just stain the doors (I believe oak) as we had a hardwood floor installed as well. All the woodwork in the new room and kitchen is white. We went with their suggestions but I really wish we had chose to paint them white. They came out beautiful with the light stain and poly but they almost look "unfinished" as all the other woodwork is white.
How hard of a job is it to paint them white NOW?
Thanks.
Sue.
Answer Hi Sue, it's easy, lightly sand them with something like 320 grit sandpaper, wipe them don with a damp cloth, prime and paint. I like the new generation of small, white, dense foam touch up rollers for this type of painting...use good methods and technique, and buy good paint, like Benjamin Moore- best of luck- Greg
