do you any ideas on how to fix it  can glues or putty work and a banging it back to normal would work or no?

Answer
Hi Kristy, Sorry to hear about your headboard.  If it is solid wood, there is some hope. I am not there to see the damage but generally you would squeeze some wood glue (titebond 2 or 3) into the crack and clamp it together tightly for 24 hours. The glue seam will actually be stronger than the wood around it. If the surface is uneven you can use a bit of wood filler to fill the uneven areas. Sand it when dry.  Hopefully it should be good as new. Good luck with your repair and thanks for the question.
