Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/Lacquer repair

Question
I recently moved and the pople that helped me move used clear packing tape to tape a piece of cardboard on my dining table. They taped to the table itself (I was unaware until after the fact). It has a cherry stain with a laquer finish. When they took it off, up came some patches of lacquer. I am very unknowledgable in this area. Can this be repaired and how?

Answer
It can be repaired pretty easily if it was just the lacquer that came up. I hope none of the stain or wood color came off with it. I would still recommend hiring a professional to re-apply the lacquer.

They do sell lacquer sealers and sprays at hardware stores, but it isn't the easiest thing to do yourself. Its hard to know the right amount to apply and even harder to layer it correctly.
