Question
I have a built in dresser in my closet that has knape and vogt sliders on the sides of the drawers.  I believe something is lodged behind one of the drawers, but cannot figure out how to take the drawer out.  None of the drawers seem to lift up to release and I don't see any levers.  Thank you for your assistance.  Diane

Answer
Diane,

I am not 100% certain, but I think that KV drawer slides have a small tab that your press in, which releases the drawer box. It's not a lever, it's a small flexible piece of metal. I think the tab will be toward the back 1/3 of your drawer slide, and it might be in the very center of the slide itself. I'm writing this from memory, because I'm away from home for the weekend and don't have access to my KV catalogs.

I would pull the drawer out as far as you can, then really inspect the slide. If the slide is black, look for something that isn't black, but is the raw metal (silver) color.

If you can possibly take a picture of the slide and send it to me, I might be able to give you a more definitive answer. But I think you'll just need to poke around for a small button or tab that will instantly release it. It's there, it's just hard to find.

Good luck, write back or send that image and I'll try to help more.
